Fire policy

The premises, 8, Old Road, Whaley Bridge SK23 7HU is a ground floor office comprising a main room, accessed from the street by a front door. To the rear, there is a small kitchen area with sink, kettle and fridge. And beyond, at the back a toilet and basin.

Should it occur,

If the fire is small, there is an electrical fire compatible extinguisher in the kitchen for your immediate use.

If the fire is significant and /or you feel threatened, please tell all your coworkers, remembering that there might be somebody in the toilet.

Please evacuate the premises by the front door. Do not delay by packing your belongings.

Gather outside the cycle shop at the bottom of the road. Please carry out a headcount to ensure all those who were in the premises are present. report this to the fire service.

Please ring the fire brigade as soon as you can.

The upper floor flat is accessed at the back of the building. If possible and without endangering yourself, please tell them of the fire.

Please also advise neighbouring properties.

Safeguarding policy

We care about each of our customers and want you to to feel safe at work. Nobody should feel insecure or threatened in any way.

If, for any reason, you feel unsafe by the actions of a coworker, please tell us as soon as possible. We would like to know so that we can explore the problem with you and put it right. Please leave the premises immediately and contact us.

If you cause any of your coworkers to feel unsafe, or cause them emotional or physical harm, we will both bar you and report you to the police.

Posture/ergonomic policy

Please seek a chair and desk which is suitable for your needs. There are a variety of chairs, and three standing desks amongst those of normal height.

We do not take information as to your individual physical requirements during the booking procedure unless you volunteer this information. You are welcome to do so and we will explore the options we have for you.

It is for you to ensure that your desk and chair are adjusted to your comfort and health. Feel free to swap chairs if you need to.

Pet policy

Many of our customers have dogs. For the avoidance of doubt, however, this policy applies to all domesticated animals and birds.

We do not obtain information from our customers as to allergies or anxieties. Therefore, we cannot exclude the possibility of your pet causing problems to others.

The room is not large if fully occupied, and this can be awkward for your pet. Therefore you are requested at first instance not to bring your pet to work. If, however, you obtain the consent of all other coworkers using the premises on that day, then you may bring your pet.

If any problems arise and any customer requests you to take your pet home, please do so forthwith. Should you have any problem with somebody else’s pet which cannot be resolved amicably, please contact us.

Failure to remove your pet when requested will result in your being barred.

Equality policy

This business complies with all legislation and ethics relating to non discrimination of any sort. We believe that each customer should have equal access to the workspace and to respect and harmonious working conditions.

The premises are wheelchair accessible but the customer is invited to test their access to the toilet. It is not large. If you have special requirements for your access to work, please talk to us and we will work to try to accommodate your needs.

If you feel that you have been treated unequally unfairly or abusively in any way, please contact us and of course, the police. We will use our very best endeavours to stop this behaviour from happening.

We expect all of our customers to behave politely and respectfully to others at risk of being banned.

Health and safety policy

This is a small office. There should be no environmental hazards.

Please use the space so as to keep it risk free. This includes preventing trip hazards with personal belongings and cables, the carrying of hot liquids, and respecting others personal space. We cannot be held liable for anything outside our direct control.
